Privacy Policy
AmiFam shares the signals you choose, such as "Started the day" or "Charging", with the people you connect with. It never collects your location, apps, messages, calls or address book. We do not sell your data and we show no ads.
1. Who we are
AmiFam is made by zeroemdashes, an independent software publisher run by Bojan Gasparovic in Spain. This policy applies to the AmiFam app for Android (package com.zeroemdashes.amifam) and to amifam.com.

| Your check-ins, and the signals you choose to share. For each, the kind of signal and its time, and your battery level. While the offline alert is on, also Phone online (a regular signal that the phone is on) and phone off or on | To show your connections that you are OK, and to notify them | You, and the people who get your signals: your connections, and the members of a family with a package |
| Last seen: the time you last unlocked your phone. Only the newest time is kept | So the people who get your signals know when you last used your phone | You, and the people who get your signals |
| How many signals your phone sent each day last week | To show the people who follow you without a package what full access gives | People who follow you without a package see how many signals your phone sent each day last week, mostly unlocks. They never see what or when. |

With an ID for the app on your phone, your account ID, your phone's model, Android version and language, and the country | To see how AmiFam is used, and to make it work better | Only zeroemdashes |
Nobody else sees your name or email address. When someone checks whether a phone number is on AmiFam, we answer only yes or no, never whose account it is.
3. What AmiFam never collects
- Your location
- The apps you use
- Your messages or calls
- Your address book. Only a number you pick to connect with or invite is sent.
- The content of your notifications
- Signals you do not share. They never leave your phone.
- Your payment details. Google Play handles the payment.
AmiFam does not use advertising and does not collect the Google Advertising ID. Usage data never says when a signal happened, only how many there were in a day.
4. Permissions
- Notifications. To tell you about the people you are connected to, and to show a notification while you share.
- Run in the background and start at boot. So your signals still arrive while the phone sleeps or after it restarts. The app runs only while you share with at least one person.
- Camera. Only to scan a QR code, when you tap Scan QR code. No image is saved or sent.
- Photo library. Only the one photo you pick for your profile, or for a family. It is made smaller on your phone before it is sent.
- Contacts. Only if you allow it. The app shows the name you saved for each person you are connected to, by looking up their number on your phone. When you connect with or invite someone from your contacts, only the number you pick is sent. Your contacts are never sent or stored.
- Motion sensor. While Hard drop is on. It is on unless you turn it off in Profile, Signals. The app reads it on your phone to notice a fall. The readings stay on your phone: only the time of a hard drop, and when the phone moves again, is sent.
5. Services we use
| Service | What it does | Data it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Runs the AmiFam server and stores the data in section 2 | All data in section 2. The data is stored in the European Union. Cloudflare also processes your IP address to deliver each request. |
| Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) | Wakes the app when there is something new | Your push notification token. The message itself is empty: the app then fetches the update from our server. |
| Google Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) | Signs you in with a code sent by text message | Your phone number, kept until you delete your account |
| Google reCAPTCHA (Google LLC) | Checks that a sign-in comes from the real app or a person, to stop abuse | Information about your device and the app, or your browser on amifam.com/delete |
| Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) | Counts how AmiFam is used | The usage data in section 2. Never your phone number, name, AmiTag, email address, photo, family names, contacts, or who you are connected to. Google may process it outside the European Union, under the EU standard contractual clauses. |
| Google Play (Google LLC) | Sells the packages and takes the payment | Google Play has your Google account and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive only the package, its state, its dates and a purchase reference. |
These services process data on our behalf and only to provide their service. We do not share your data with anyone else.
6. How long we keep it
- Signals and check-ins: 30 days, then deleted.
- Your streak and count: until you delete your account. They are numbers only, not the signals themselves.
- The numbers between you and each person or family: until you disconnect, the family ends, or you delete your account.
- Error reports: 30 days, then deleted.
- Usage data: 14 months, then deleted.
- Invites: 30 days after the invite ends, then deleted.
- Daily counts of invites and lookups: deleted the next day.
- Your account, photo, connections, families and packages: until you delete your account.
- Free trial: after you delete your account, we keep a coded form of your phone number (a keyed hash) and when your trial started, so the same number does not get a second free trial. Nobody can read your number from it.
- On your phone: your sign-in and signals waiting to upload stay until you sign out or uninstall the app.
7. Your control
- Nobody gets your signals until you accept their request to connect, or an invite to a family.
- You choose which signals to share, and you can change them at any time. Phone online and phone off or on are sent only while the offline alert is on, and you can turn it off at any time.
- You can stop sharing, remove a connection, or leave a family at any time.
- You can change or remove your photo in Profile.
- You can cancel a package at any time in Google Play.
8. Delete your account
You can delete your account in two ways:
- In the app: open Profile and tap Delete account. You confirm with a code sent by text message to your phone number.
- On the web: go to amifam.com/delete. You confirm with a code sent by text message to your phone number, so only the person with the phone can delete the account. You do not need the app.
We delete your account at once: your phone number, AmiTag, name, email address, photo, connections, requests, families you created, your packages, the names you gave to people, the names they gave to you, your signals, your invites, invites sent to your number, and your sign-in. Only the coded number for the free trial stays (section 6). Error reports are deleted after 30 days on their own, and usage data after 14 months. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
Deleting your account does not cancel a package in Google Play. Cancel it in Google Play first, or Google Play keeps charging you.
No longer have your phone number? Email support@amifam.com with your AmiTag. We ask you to show that the account is yours before we delete it, and we reply when it is done.
9. Children
AmiFam is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child uses AmiFam, contact support@amifam.com and we delete the account.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict its use, or to object to it. Email support@amifam.com. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD, aepd.es) or to the authority in your country.
We use your data to provide the service you asked for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). We use error reports and usage data to keep the app working and make it better, the daily counts to stop abuse, and the coded number to give one free trial per person (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)). You can object to that by email.
When you invite someone by phone number, we store that number for them until the invite is used or deleted (section 6). We use it only to deliver your invite (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
11. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Every request to our server must carry your sign-in, and the server gives each person only the data described in section 2.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and publish the new version here before the change takes effect.
13. Contact
support@amifam.com. A person reads every email.
14. Early testers
When you sign up as a tester on amifam.com, we store your email address, the email addresses you give for the people you will test with, the language of the page, the country your request came from and the date.
We use them only to add you and those people to the AmiFam test on Google Play, to send the welcome email and to tell you once AmiFam goes live. We send nothing else. To add you to the test, we put the email addresses on the tester list in Google Play Console (Google LLC). The sign-ups are stored with Cloudflare, Inc.
If you email us at support@amifam.com for early access, we use your email address and any addresses you give us only to add you to the test and to set up AmiFam with you.
We delete your sign-up after we tell you that AmiFam is live, or sooner if you ask at support@amifam.com.
